As Shared on Social – Day 7

Day 7 of 100

Staying in Touch
.
Gbenga ‘guza’ Adewumi thought he had heard the last of and from me when I existed the company we both worked for.
.
He thought very wrong😊, because really who do I call when I need to do an explainer video for www.ournuptialches
t.com.

See video here: https://www.facebook.com/anu.sanya.3/videos/10157455191591181/

Sometimes our colleagues become what we need for future advancement. I stay grateful to those I can call on when I need a thing to two. (Even though some are simply tired of my harassment😉😉).

As shared on Social – Day 4

Day 4 of 100

I would be grateful to get an answer to this question.

My conversation with someone left me in thoughts about what it really means to have a community or be part of a community.

Does it mean people who are your friends, people who are like you or people who have a common goal like yours?

The timing would never be Perfect

I love the experiences that comes with exploring new cities or just simply having engaging conversations with people of very diverse background. I find it totally exciting.

I put a hold on it during and after “adult education” waiting for the perfect time. Largely trying to get the wallet ready.

That perfect time never showed up and still hasn’t. Decided I was going to resume anyway. Started with my birthday this year and again when Onyekachi Eke came to my side of the world.

The perfect timing would meet me along the way.

The answer to what you need is outside.

This one is a tough pill for me to swallow but yesterday night highlighted the truthfulness in it. I spent 3 hours in the company of women in technology – Programmers/Developers, founders, Data Analyst, Product Owners, Tech Students etc.

The time for mingling came and I found myself engaging with women who had the answers or contacts to those doors I have been knocking at for the past many months. Conversations didn’t last up to 5 mins with these individuals and contacts got exchanged with a firm promise to get things moving.

Goodness🙄

I am such a homebody. But clearly “outside” is where it all happens.

The people you are surrounded with.

Anurika Azubuike was checking in on me and I shared my frustrations of how things don’t seem to be progressing. This woman just allowed me to rant and went on to give her feedback that allowed me to self reflect. “Madam you can’t wallow in self pity, if life is not giving you want you want, don’t sit down waiting for it to happen, HAPPEN TO LIFE!

I guess my conscious effort I have made over the years to surround myself with individuals who do not play pity party keeps paying off.

I am afraid. Very much so because the next 100 days is a massive move from my very very comfortable zone but at this point I need to do it afraid.

Nigeria’s Internet Statistics you should Know.

Terragon published its annual digital insights a few  weeks back.

As a business owner or someone simply interested in the growth of  internet penetration in Nigeria, some of the key points (and lessons) from the report should be of interest to you.

  1. You already know Nigeria is at 162 million mobile subscriptions, which amounts to 84 per cent of the population. Then it is not  a surprise that Internet users is currently at 100.5m (not sure if this accounts for multiple screens i.e one person who owns  two phones, laptop and a PC).  Key StatsWhat this stats means is: a) To get the attention of the average Nigerian you need to be online. b) To be online is good but you need to have content that sets you apart from the millions crowd a.k.a competition is fierce, think Unique. c) The good and bad are online, be careful of the information you share online.

2.  Not sure why, but we have more men on social media. (would be very interesting to know exactly what they are doing). But more importantly Facebook is still “King”.  I personally thought it was Instagram ruling but statistics shows I am wrong.

Facebook is still king

Lesson for you: Your Facebook page should lead all times, every other platform should support.  A caveat from me though; if your  product or service is image or video driven, you might want to do more on Instagram. But remember there are more people on Facebook.

3. This next one is very important for now and going forward.  If  most of the content consumed online is Mobile Video, then Explainer Video (nothing more than 5 mins please) is the next thing for your business. VideoNo, it does not have to be super high tech and professionally done, there are a number of tools you can use to produce a video for your business. Read up on them here. Just as with all your content going online think unique, you only have the first 5 secs of your video to  get the attention of your consumer.

There is more on the report. You can read the full report here.
